Ah, shades of the Kingdom Heart 2 remasters and the Organization.
Ah, shades of the Kingdom Heart 2 remasters and the Organization.
And the thing is they've handled this better before.
Persona 3 never tells us the traitor's full story. We have to piece it together on our own.
Persona 4 let's us explore town and question NPC's to puzzle out the identities of the main villains. These moments are a little opaque but still allow for gameplay.
Persona 5…
Final Fantasy XII's storytelling bugged me. The interesting characters in the Empire all sort themselves out while the protagonists are collecting macguffins. I was looking forward to meeting Judge Drace but the plot never gave me a chance.
I like the SEGA mini. However the wireless controls must be held just so to connect to the infrared light. I'll probably track down corded controls so I stop breaking my connection.
Last night I beat the sixth palace in Persona 5. This was followed by 80 minutes of exposition.
What's your phone battery life like with FF8? I've been hesitant to download the Square RPG's on my phone.
I've enjoyed replaying a lot of 8 bit games on the 3DS virtual console. The ones that were good at the time are still enjoyable. I have not enjoyed replaying many early 3D games. Most often they involve serious camera issues.
I made the mistake of watching the Sal Mineo / Cyril Ritchard Aladdin from 1958. The songs are by Cole Porter but the whole thing is a snooze.
Anyone remember the musical Kismet? My theater friends and I were just discussing how hard this one is to revive. It's a farce set in Baghdad where a lowly thief seduces the wife of an evil Wazir and matches his daughter up with the Caliph. I'd described it to friends as "Disney's Aladdin with more sex and white…
As a musical theater fan I admire her work in Camp, The Last Five Years and Into the Woods. The trailers scared me away from seeing Pitch Perfect.
So that audiences can ship Trevor and Dracula.
The combat system took me ages to comprehend. If I get around to a replay the opening areas will be more enjoyable now that I (mostly) know how to fight.
I stealthed my way through most of the game. That left me some good weapons for the bosses but I assumed I couldn't use the Master Sword till the final boss. Once I read on the forums that it auto-recharged I equipped it for my post-game exploring. I've been watching YouTube tutorials on how to fight the larger foes.…
The whole everyone interesting is dead thing really is a barrier to plot investment.
Riverdale # 4. I'm trying to support all things Kevin Keller related. Betty and Veronica try to set Kevin up on dates but he's "such a nerd" he keeps screwing them up. Given that this version is based on dreamboat Casey Cott I don't buy it. It's like the gorgeous actress in a romcom putting on glasses to make herself…
Re P5 I realized I'm behaving like Makoto.
There's a real Goofus and Gallant vibe.
Hero: I spent several evenings a week studying. When the teachers ask me something I look it up on wikipedia.
Bro Friend: SCREW THAT MAN! I don't study. Being a hero has given me new purpose in life!
(next week)
Bro Friend: Ah man. I totally flunked that test!
Hero: looks at the…
Persona 5. Entering the sixth palace. I've realized that the tactical way I'm playing has made the game less fun. I'm maxing key stats and S-links but I'm missing out on a lot of content.
These types of arguments are common in the theater world. I imagine they are in the opera and the dance world as well.
I'm not a fan of the "bro" characters in general. Junpei in P3, Yosuke in P4 and Ryuji in P5 seem to be there to emphasize how "chill" the protagonist is by comparison.
