I know what you mean. Several months ago I saw a kid I played baseball and football with in high school who was a year above me was engaged. I haven't seen him since high school and I'm almost certainly never going to see him again, but it was the sort of thing that made me think for a little bit.

She'll be by far the youngest member of the squad (at 16, she's in her first year of top-level competition) and she's a lot of fun to watch and I think NBC will take notice of her in their Olympics coverage this year.

Well, I hope it happens so that these Olympics aren't a foregone conclusion.

I thought she was pretty good on her episode of SNL years ago, which is the only time I can recall seeing her in anything.

It's funny that Dowd talks about black comedy, because I found Only God Forgives very, very funny. How could you not?
