Wow, I came here to say the exact opposite per Stipe's cover. A tepid, uninspired version of Bowie's masterpiece.

It has potential… I'm not exactly thrilled for a second season but I'd like to see if they can somehow make this work.

Lol @ the hyperbole!

I've read this article several times now and I'm still trying to detect how and why Steve Miller is a "dick" in this case.

It was sarcasm. :-)

Islam is not a race and yet people persist in perpetuating the notion that ideological criticism of Islam should be conflated with race. Got it. The regressive left want to push the narrative that criticism of culture is automatically bigoted and racist. "It's gross! It's racist!", exclaims Ben Affleck. No, Batman, it

Okay, we're back on track! Huzzah! Where was I again? Oh yes:

I also meant Dawkins. :-)

With respect to arguing tenets vs adherents, the Inquisition - which I so gleefully cherry-picked - was a specific strategy put into place and overseen by the Holy Office in Rome. This wasn't a case of a few bad apples running around covertly persecuting non-Catholics.

For the record, I definitely don't view this as a win. I'm sorry if I've come across that way. Cheers.

And thanks for adding your own voice to the conversation!

Nice job of cherry picking. Do you dispute that we've had a few thousand years of obnoxious religious zealots? Ever hear of the Inquisition? People getting thrown off rooftops for being gay? Pro-lifers torching abortion clinics? Yeah, thought so.

To some people it's rude and counter-productive, to others it's precisely the wake up call people need.

Only he's not, actually.

Is there something more interesting to care about? Nahh…

The notion that strident atheism is counter-productive may be true in some cases but certainly not all. As an example on this last point, the so-called "New Atheists" (Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, et al.) have certainly been largely successful over the years in their campaigns against theism.

I think that's precisely the best part about Gervais: he IS annoying to some people. And I love it. :-)

I don't get the atheist backlash Gervais gets. He's outspoken about his atheism and calls into question the utter ridiculousness of "faith".

Nothing wrong with getting your ass kicked by a girl, or anyone for that matter, after you've been shot by Chewie's bowcaster. Credit where credit's due.

Nahh… it was pretty fantastic and deserved accolades. As per episodes of the animated series being "better"… maybe? So?
