I'm a native Ontarian and pronounce about as "abowt". I can't think of anyone I know from these parts (GTA area) that says "aboat" but, I suppose, it's possible that some of the smaller, rural towns may have different pronunciations.

I love Martin Freeman but Simon Jones will always be the definitive Arthur Dent for me. As it should be, considering that Douglas Adams literally wrote the character based on Jones.
Kevin Smith seems to have very, very few fans on this site.
1. Books
2. TV series
3. Radio drama
