It's just such a pointless and useless scene. It adds nothing to the story, he's clearly going to be fine. The bulk of the audience will see it for what it is - a shameless attempt at adding artificial peril to the ending.

Which is still a mess and still lacking in any logical coherence.
Well as things stand, there is The Flash Barry who exists at the end of the finale, with powers but a Time Remnant (and why do some of these disappear and not others - still not explained). Meanwhile there is another Barry without powers pre-S1 who will either live up to the present point without powers or gain…
I suspect Snart has been Bad Wolfed but we will see.
Perhaps. But it has to happen VERY quickly because any character development in the alternate timeline doesn't stick. If it drags on for four or five episodes or half a season, thats all those episodes where nothing that actually happens to the characters matters.
I think you need to consider what you just wrote.
Its not hard to have good characters which are superficial which is the problem I was trying to allude to. The depth is what is lacking (and its inherent to the media) with comics, which reduces the emotional intensity.
So who are all the people drooling over the prospect?
I don't read comic books because when I have entered that world I've always had problems with the presentation of story (especially the lack of character depth) which is innate to the media.
I don't know if it is cool or not because it HASNT HAPPENED ON THE SHOW. That's part of the point. My enjoyment of the show should not depend on an in depth knowledge of canon.
So why are they drooling at the thought of this "Flashpoint Paradox" crap?
No, I don't.
What an absolute mess. A disgraceful, unacceptable, incoherent mess.
Yeah, incredibly heavy handed name drop. Totally unnecessary and took you right out of the scene and the episode.
Another week where The Flash continues to careen off course, the entire Earth 2 based story was again based on the idea that Zoom had some sort of relationship with Caitlin which he absolutely, fundamentally did not (it was with the Time Remnant. Then they go and kill off Killer Frost which really does seem to be…
The only gripe I have with the finale is why does Tom Ellis say "Mom"? You'd think the actor would step in when they see that sort of error in the script.
A note on John Knox, who in reality was far more obnoxious an individual than even portrayed in the show but who was also one of the most important people in history (and if you're not Scottish, THE most important person in history you've never heard of).
Reign is still a fun show and always delivers entertainment.
But that's my point, I agree he finds the episode bad. But the justification given in the review (and pretty much the bulk of comments) are the same problems that effect every episode of LoT.
Not particularly, it was established the character was not particularly intelligent and desperate to cling on to her position as Heda.
