I've read (and loved) the novel and am generally satisfied with the premiere. Clearly, the ambiguity of Shadow's appearance in the book, other than 'big', won't work on screen, but Whittle does a fine job of portraying a man who is striving to remain calm at all times.
I'm late to this, obviously, but thought the contrast between the high minded ideals they're selling to Paige (and themselves) and Elizabeth's mission was beautifully constructed.
