Makes sense. I also remember reading an LFL article on Grantland (R.I.P.) that said the players don't get paid at all, and are basically volunteers. I'm sure that helps with the costs to run a league no one watches.

Oh, it's still around, re-branded as the Legends Football League. Mind you, they are still wearing underwear but it's less lacy, lingerie-style and more gym shorts and sports bras. I don't know how they are solvent, but they are still playing games.
