Husband and I are watching it and not binging. We don't have the time/energy after the kids are in bed to watch anything more than an hour so we watch TV shows. We've been watching it more often than once a week but not quite one a night, depending on what else we have going on. I'm enjoying it at this pace. Much more

So I just saw this last night with the husband and I wanted to give my take on it. First, the set up. I love the original Ghostbusters but I didn't have any particular opinion about the remake. I am not generally a comedy fan, I find most comedy doesn't cater to my tastes. (In particular I tend to hate bro comedy,

Finished the Ancillary series by Ann Leckie The last book was enjoyable enough although it was a bit of s disappointment after the first two fantastic books. I felt the characters sounded less like individuals and too much like mouthpieces for the author and the plot wasn't overly engaging. Still, I am sad to be done

I don't read too much sci-fi so I don't have any suggestions really other than I just finished the Ancillary series by Ann Leckie and really enjoyed it.

HHhH sounds a bit like a book I haven't finished (but will pick up again someday) Angle of Repose By Wallace Stegner. I enjoyed the historical bit and not so much the "modern" which is why I had difficulty finishing it.

So I really liked the first half of The Girl With All the Gifts but the moralizing in the back half irritated me too much. Especially the whole idea that adults are too old and need to get out of the way. It might be though I'm more sensitive to it as a woman though because the ageism is more onerous…..and now that

I'm reading that also. I found it inspiring and enjoyable at first but the essays on writers left me feeling intimidated. I've been wanting to get back into writing but I'm very insecure about it. (Mostly though I'm too worn out and tired from the kids)

I really liked the first half of The Paying Guests but the last half made me want to throw the book across the room. In fact, I didn't finish it even though I was this close to it.

I always imagined Egwene as an older version of the girl in the painting The Child Enthroned by Thomas Cooper Gutch. With brown hair.

Oh and I imagine ambient sounds sometimes. Like birds chirping or fans or water running. Sounds but no voices? My brain is weird.

Visualize yes, and in great detail. As someone else said it can I change on the fly as new visual information is added so because of that I find it more dreamlike than movie-like. Its also more immersive than a movie, I generally imagine texture and feel as well although only tied to whoever is the main character.

Watching this series with the husband and we are loving it. Both of us were kids in the 80's and it is amusing to see the 80's references that we pick up but that isn't even our main draw to to the series. Neither of us were overly immersed in 80's pop culture and we aren't nit picking over the details. It has what we

Probably a little scary then. I am similar to you and I find it scary enough to get a reaction but not enough to keep me awake at night. It reminds me most of Poltergeist scary.

Do you not watch modern sci-fi or fantasy either? Because I do and this is quite well done, so far anyway and I have no complaints. I'm not watching it for the nostalgia, although I am impressed with its authenticity. In fact I'm enjoying this more than much of it's source material, much of which I have never seen

I also found that to be very off -putting but as a parent of young children….I just can't even. I feel angry at the thought of children being killed as some kind of plot device for personal growth. The rest of the description doesn't help either but the review doesn't talk much about how the plot is executed, so I

I haven't read the book so I wouldn't know but do you mean young adult as in actual young adult, that is a 20 something or YA the genre which is actually for teenagers. I feel as if I've grown out of his writing also, as it seemed cool when I was in my 20's I've found myself slowly growing less interested in it. His

I love the cover art for Forest of Memory. I looked up the artist, Victo Ngai, and her work is really great.

My reading materials don't change seasonally….but I don't hang out by the pool either. In fact I hate pools pretty much so I generally avoid them.

I'll have to check American Colonies out, that's something I've always missed from my American History classes.

The main reason I was fairly well read for a high school student was because I chose to take literature courses.
