He did a really fantastic job with the performances, and Joaquin Sedillo lit and shot the episode so beautifully. Great work by both of them here.

Michael Lehmann is the badass who directed "Heathers"

Hopefully you noticed that Michael Lehmann was at the helm on this one. So amazing to see him do a scream queens.

Reading this review I think you have identified the main issue with the show. Scream Queens was sold as a serialized show, and this episode is extremely episodic. The show overall does not have all of it's focus on the red devil mystery, and instead likes to explore other ideas in the world.
