Community was never better or as good as 30 Rock in its peak (and hell, season 7 as well, because season 7 was awesome).

The Soup is much, much easier to shoot and come up with material than a Atlanta music scene show. There really is no comparison here.

I agree with @Scrawler2:disqus, this sounds like a personal project and one of those "only happens once" opportunities of having creative control of a show about something that you love. Honestly, I think it's a smart decision to invest in this. Even if it doesn't work out, at least he tried it to do something he

You know, I don't care for his rap, but a show about the Atlanta music scene with him actually sounds more interesting than a season 5 of Community with Dan Harmon back. I really think that idea has potential, especially because Glover is a solid comedy writer and could do something pretty good with a world he knows

I'm so happy for you getting this recognition! Your work on PR recaps got me hooked on the AV Club, and I always love reading your stuff. A lot of writers seem  afraid to elaborate beyond the surface these days, and I like how you manage to make very layered and intricate points of view flow in your text, not to

And Project Runway!

They are releasing some Spectacular now, but saving some Spectacular for later.

Nothing screams summer fun more than Cate Blanchett crying and a Werner Herzog produced documentary about the cruelty of war!

How does it feel to post like you do?

Oh, The Multiplexers could be a multicam sitcom about a family and every episode is about them going to watch some shitty kids movie.

I thought it was gonna happen because there was a lot of family films out recently, and this was released way too late. I mean, how much money do american families have that they go watch so many movies all of the sudden? There was no way they still got something left on their bank account to pay Smurfs for the whole

Dude, I doubt Patton Oswalt is a big factor for most voters. I know who Emmy voters are, they are tv professionals. Meaning they get  and watch TV more than casual viewers but don't spend as much time watching it and looking for new things as "experts"/critics.

Orphan Black did not dominate television criticism the way you were implying. If anything I have seen critics talking about it much more on twitter than actual articles and episode reviews. Very few places covered the entire season. There were some interviews with Maslany when the season was ending, but it was still

Just because it once was really excellent and it's on eternal underdog status really doesn't mean that Parks deserves to be considered one of the best comedies now. This is a comedy award for this year, and frankly, it doesn't even deserve to be top 15 this time. The show IS coasting on sweetness and character

I follow the Emmy season. I know the moment they did the Maslany campaign was too late. The category was already crowded and they didn't give her a push big enough to stand out over the dozen other ladies fighting for a spot. The fact Margulies and Close didn't even get nominated shows how competitive it was, and her

Program Of The Year, please, please!

Yeah, that's what I thought. I did think that maybe Veep, New Girl and Louie split the "non-traditional" vote, which led the more traditional hit and the more pleasant and sweet show to tie in a win.

But quite honestly, critics pull this all the time. I really don't think Switched At Birth or Bunheads are better than Adventure Time.

I think they are, you know, just like regular people. They hear about shows and they watch it. But it takes time, especially for shows in situations like that. I think fans wanna blame voters because it's easier that way. And maybe, eventually, they'll be able to. But right now, I think it's perfectly reasonable

@avclub-cfe912f5cb3aa572bd1c9ae2a9b82207:disqus I like that they see themselves as equals, and so does HBO. I don't believe in the idea of co-leads, but they come pretty close to what the concept should be.
