@avclub-ffc2c137ac50f2b5c98536d558642273:disqus To me it's hilarious and mostly comedic. If that's how you feel…

I know people like to give the Emmys a hard time because it's cool to hate on organizations like this and all, but here's the thing: it's a low rated show. About clones. On BBC. Starring a complete unknown. And that aired in the last minute and barely got any campaign at all. You might say they should keep up and have

I was actually more surprised with Parks winning than TBBT, because Big Bang Theory had already won at the Critics Choice Awards. The narrative of critics embracing Big Bang this year has been quite surprising. But yeah, it was strong year.

@avclub-ffc2c137ac50f2b5c98536d558642273:disqus It really isn't a drama or dramedy. There are episodes where nothing dramatic happens. That's not how dramedies work, since the term depend on constant balance of both. To call Louie a dramedy really isn't fair to the show because of the connotations that come with the

Most culturally relevant. Notice how Walking Dead and House Of Cards both got nominated in Program Of The Year but were snubbed in Drama. It's because they both represent important tv stories of the year (the monster hit of cable bigger than network dramas, the Netflix model and binge watching experience). BB won

A season of Louie will consist of both the most depressing and sad moments and the most hilarious and batshit comedic as well. And also a few touching sweet moments as well. basically it's a comedy first and foremost and a very funny one at that, but it can also be more dramatic than most dramas.

The thing is, I'm not even american, but just the suggestion of someone or something being canadian for me is funny. I don't know why! It just is! Too much american tv, I guess.

I think it will win almost everything it is nominated for. There's just no stopping it. Nor should it be stopped.

People on Av Club will probably hate you (and now me) for saying that, but even though I'm not a fan of TBBT, and didn't think it should have won, I agree that this season specifically it was better than Parks. Really, I loved the first three seasons of Parks and really liked the fourth, but it has no business winning

I'll never understand the almost complete snub of The Americans at the Emmys. They must have an aversion to FX dramas or something (with exception of Margo Martindale, of course). At least it won New Program here.

I was kinda rooting for Adventure Time instead. Because it should have louder critical acclaim and, well, you know, it is actual youth programming. I like Bunheads and all, but it doesn't fit the category. It feels like stretching the definition of a term just to award ASP somehow.

Can you please explain to me where is this sudden love of TBBT coming from critics? I know most agree this season was a major improvement over the last few, but really? The best comedy of all television? I also disagree with Parks. It seems the perpetual underdog status of the show and it's sweet nature make people

I love, love Bredel in these episodes. I rarely ever enjoy Rory this much (except season 5, because I'm one of those), and I thought it was a great move for the show to do this storyline. At some point, even Rory must be annoyed by how perfect people simply assume she is, right? And I think they dealt with this just

Say goodbye to Steve!

Ray Donovan is the anti-hero show for people who missed the anti-hero shows when they were the big new thing and now think it's too late to catch up with the ones that came before. That's why it does well.

I UNFLAP WHENEVER I SEE A TV EXECUTIVE ON TCA

What show with The Rock?

Sailor Moon fan?

I really don't see Pretty In Pink as transferable to the gay teen experience at all. It's standard Cinderella stuff. That alone means you can't simply make Ringwald's character a gay boy out of nowhere. It's just as dictated by gender norms as most films are.

Simple: the way straight boys have their first relationship and their first time having sex, things are more overtly expressed. Gay coming of age stories have to deal with the closeted aspect, and with an understated interest and expression of love and attraction. That alone changes the whole adolescent experience.
