fuck if that's not a weird, pervasive motif running through that amazing show

I desperately wanted to love this premiere, but honestly this felt like a toss-off. The devotion to War-Room aesthetics plays like elaborate window dressing to two weirdly slack performances - Hader operating at an 11 throughout, Armisen removed by like three degrees of irony from whatever's unfolding narratively,

I hate to point out contunuity errors…especially for a show as good as this one. But it makes no sense that in this episode they have a 6-7 year old Dick Whitman watching his brother's birth, uncle mac standing by, when, in the season six flashbacks, they use the same child actor, now aged thirteen or fourteen,
