Shunt

Shunt

So, my long farewell to the AV Club began last year, with Dennis' SNL reviews and the grades being linked to how much (or little) every sketch called out Trump. Then the reviews were all about how well the show aligned to the anti-Trump Power Hour (plus two songs) model.

The shit that used to work, it won't work now.

I know. It's like I keep going back to a restaurant that used to be great but has lost a few stars over the years and I'm expecting the same delicious dish again but it's no longer on the menu.

I've been coming here less and less because of the political horseshit. It's so sad and unnecessary. I suppose they're getting more clicks from some click farm somewhere.

Something about the Simpsons, I think.

Rhea Seehorn too.

Does that also include the cost of your Internet? Trying to figure out if this is an option for me. About 80% of my viewing is a premium network: Showtime, HBO, etc. Also, worried about losing live sports.

I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of visual style this season. The use of split screens in Season 2 took my breath away at times. The only shot that came close to something like that was the dread-filled lingering shot, slowly panning in, of the car after MEW's character got beaten up.

Man, this show is masterful in the use of long shots. The one with Mike and Gus in the parking lot, with Gus turning to walk away, just about killed me.

Man, you never used to see this kind of "conversation" on the AV Club. Makes me sad…

It's interesting that Chuck was able to stand outside without a problem and gloat over Jimmy while they were waiting for the police to come.

Just like movie reviews get published before the film is in theaters.

Thanks for the thoughtful review, Noel.Looking forward to listening to this later today.

I'm unclear how this story is part of the AV Club's remit. Not about a movie or TV show or book or record or movie/TV/recording artist.

It is, in fact, a great day for America everybody.

What's the scariest thing you've ever seen?

You Can't Fail Me Now by Loudon Wainwright and Joe Henry.
"I lost the thread among the vines and hung myself in storylines…"

Gotta agree on Whitechocolatespaceegg. That's a great album, and Polyester Bride is the soundtrack of our alternate lives.
