The are pretty cold/distant parents. Four episodes ago in Lotus 1-2-3, eating dinner at the kitchen table, Paige says to Philip, "I'm already so screwed up; maybe I'm just meant to be alone." No reassurance from her dad, he's motionless, expressionless, silent, until she leaves the room.
