I hear you; just saw this episode on PBS from Seattle (which we get here in Canada) and thought the same thing. Not to mention TV cops wandering into places with their back exposed, so the supervillain can sneak up on them as they stare stupidly at something shocking.

The original is the best. All three series are on Netflix here in Canada, so probably in the US and abroad.
