Yes they probably have a contractual requirement from most of the larger clients that they maintain malpractice insurance. It may also be a requirement for their license to practice law

I think it was because if he quit he would lose his signing bonus so he basically had to pull a "Constanza" to get them to fire him

Yeah at first I thought maybe he was hoping that the heat from no AC would cause Hector to have another "heart episode" but then I realized it was all about the jacket

I don't think Mike cares that much about Dan or his safety. I think after hearing how hard it was for Anita not knowing what happened to her husband and never finding the body, he realized that the good Samaritan's family is probably going through the same grief. He still feels guilty and wants to give the good

Kim's friend and her boss at Mesa Verde hate HHM though. I do not think they would be ok with Kim going back to HHM and taking the account with her

As I mentioned in another comment, HHM probably pays Chuck's insurance premium. So just making Chuck's insurance rates go up will not really hurt him. However I think there is more to this where Chuck becomes "uninsurable" in the eyes of insurance carriers which will cause HHM to ask Chuck to step down

I don't think there is any such requirements in Lawyers E&O policies and Chuck is probably protected by HIPAA regulations. However the court transcript of Chuck's outburst which also mentioned him mixing up the numbers is public record. I really think there is going to be more to this insurance issue with Chuck

Yup if the current insurance carrier cancels Chuck's coverage he will need to let a new insurance carrier know what the reason was for the previous policy being cancelled. They can all determine that he is a "huge malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen" and decide that he is "uninsurable". HHM would not let one of

I wonder if Jimmy's plan is to get Chuck's malpractice insurance
cancelled. And when word gets around the insurance industry that Chuck
may be a high risk to insure, it may make it very difficult for him to continue
practicing law at Hamlin Hamlin & McGill
