My sister is 13 years older, so she is the reason I know about any late 80s/early 90s bands. I raided her CD collection when I was 15 and never looked back. New Order/The The/The Cure/The Smiths/Morphine/Dinosaur Jr./The Clash/Siouxsie Sioux. She even gave me her old concert tees, I thought I was the coolest teenager…
I accidentally bought a ticket to see it in LA, because Fandango told me it was playing at the Chicago Landmark, which is apparently the same company as the one in LA. I think Wes is just spitting on all of us.
Thinking about what could've been with the Exploding Hearts bums me out so much. That album is one of my favorites.
My grandmother had dementia (which I don't really understand the difference between that and Alzheimer's). Toward the end the only thing that would perk her up was singing all the songs she knew from when she was a kid (and sang endlessly to her kids/grandkids). It was a terrible time, but I always think of those…
Is this really canceling it? Isn't canceling usually reserved for shows that were cut in their prime (or shows that never reached it)? Eight seasons sounds like the perfect time to end Psych.
A recent study says that pay is "nearly equal," at about 93%. That's good, but really it should be equal. I'd say it's getting there though.
Her vocals are nice, but this really doesn't pack the punch of the original. The slow buildup and then explosion of sound in the middle is the best part of the song and they really didn't hit it with this cover. Go big or go home, methinks.
As long as this somehow leads to Blackpool, I'm ok with it.
Did they always look like such douchebags? I do not remember them looking that much like douchebags.
I'm in the same boat. I just can't get excited for this film. And I know I should see it before I judge but every time I see the trailer I just think "Fuck this movie."
It was actually both, according to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/t…
I wonder if it was that guy or Anderson who decided to switch out "Sloop John B" for Van Morrison's "Everyone" at the end of Tenenbaums.
I really miss Mothersbaugh's contributions to Anderson films. "Ping Island Lightning Strike" is gold.
Isn't that kind of the best part, though? That Picasso took it from Eliot and Eliot probably got it from somewhere else (since he was so notorious for lifting things).
The quote itself is a very shortened version of Eliot's essay "Tradition and the Individual Talent," which hits on the same points as Lili. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if said Yahoo commenter read it.
Poor Lil kind of lifted it from a Picasso/Eliot, but at least she knew to write it in her own words.
The thing I love about that Picasso quote is that he technically stole it from TS Eliot.
I was actually totally fine with this until it got to the tomato sauce waterfall. That was really disgusting.
Got excited because I thought it said Ron Swanson.
