There's much to dislike about Bourdain but his love of Vietnam is one of his redeeming qualities, in my opinion. Beautiful country, incredibly nice people, the tastiest food in the world. I wish he was there in every episode of every show he does.

Yeah, Gordon's film was a Michael Moore-level of fantasy posing as documentary through lies, omissions, evil editing - when you read the true facts, you realize it's a sadly misleading depiction of the events that occurred. Hugely entertaining film, but it did a disservice to everyone in it.

I love Jesus' Son so much - it's a perfect book in so many ways - I refused to see the film and still have never seen it. It was on TV recently, and I was like, nah, the images in my head and those words are far better than any movie could be. This is the only book that I've ever done that for.
