This is my expectation. The execs will look at Reeves's Apes films and think "nah, we can do better than this for Batman", and the movie will be like every other goddamn superhero movie.

I actually think Affleck is a great Batman.

This sounds too good to be true. I have little faith that the studio will allow for this to be thoughtful and have an organically developing plot. Instead, it will have proscribed setpieces that will ruin a more interesting film within.
