I still like this show.

It was filmed in Newfoundland. Before the elimination of the tax credit, this would have been a shoe-in for production here. MacNeill sucks.

Lynch is getting to create an entire universe here, and I think it's remarkable and singular. I enjoy each thread tremendously, and I am delighted to have no idea which thread will be picked up next.

It was the one-two punch of having Jane-E and Doris in two scenes back to back that had me concerned. But this last episode transformed and deepened both characters, and now Jane-E has become one of my favourite characters.

The week to week wait is a part of that impatience (but the wait is also making it an exquisite experience). If this was being binged, the perception might change. We're only six episodes into an 18 episode cycle, so I keep reminding myself that there is a lot more story to unfold.

I do a whole presentation on plagiarism (I'm real popular with the students), and I guess I have a new example to add to the pile.

If you read my comment, I am explaining that my first impression has morphed as the show progresses. My comment actually agrees with what jupiter is saying. Perhaps my comment is too long, or the language of my first paragraph isn't clear.

I think Lillian's best season was 3. I found her far more engaging of a character than I did in the first two. And I will never NOT love Titus.

I think it did the opposite of that.

My comment was to indicate this very sentiment. I guess I didn't make that clear enough. As the show unfolds, the characters become nuanced and are better understood. I was reflecting on my initial reaction to the characters and how it is transforming.

What constitutes a Lex Luthor paperweight?

It's also what makes the scene work. If Lynch pulled the rug out from under us and didn't offer some kind of emotional conclusion of that sort, it could have come across as nasty and exploitative. But the whole thing had this internal, cohesive feel like a short story in an anthology. Again, it's less a narrative

I agree. It also chokes me up precisely where it wants me to choke up EVERY time I watch it.

I'll buy it.

That's the typical reaction, yes. Or drowsiness.

It was brutal. Really, really brutal.

Any of these would liven up my Information Literacy presentations I give to undergrad students.

They all look like potential stills from a future episode of Twin Peaks Season 3.

Actually, ALL of them take on some significance.

Yeah, those are pretty deranged. NOBODY HAS EVER BEEN THAT HAPPY WHILE EATING A SALAD!!!!
