I didn't really get Atlanta until this episode. I kept watching to support the new wave of Black artists, but I wasn't feeling it until now. The amount of talented actors of color just now arriving on our screens in prominent roles is proof that the talent was always there. It is imo clear that studios, networks, and casting were subconsciously or actively ignoring this pool of talent. Scandal and OITNB opened the doors for Crazy Ex Girlfriend, The Good

The Scandal effect but for Asians is something I could get behind. It is not just race but body size and age inclusion that is happening. It is amazing how many actors who couldn't get a shot before are popping up. My current favs are Donna Lynn Champlin and Sterling K Brown.

I really love this show so far. Bell is as funny as always, and the supporting characters fit the world well. Also, another Asian supporting character on TV that isn't a stereotype! So hoping it does well in the ratings. This and Crazy Ex Girlfriend are just the type of humor I need to keep my mind off the election.

Mary Alice who originated Rose won the tony for supporting actress while Viola won best leading actress for revival. Crazy to think that she might have three tony awards had Intimate Apparel opened on broadway rather than off (she won the drama desk and critics award for that play).

Nate Parker doesn't have nearly the number of friends that Allen does.
