V excited LaToya is reviewing this!! Just binged the whole thing (honestly, the running time + episode length was perfect) but will be tuning in for the reviews. This becomes evident later on and isn't a spoiler, but Sam and Ruth's friendship was such a highlight and so worth it after Sam being harsh af in this

The Handmaid's Tale similarities are getting real here

Definitely superhero world. Maybe the Wonder Woman sequel.

So many great moments this season, but that opening act with Clark was just stunning and …very intelligent? Showing us the "other" perspective, humanizing Clark as he deals with his injuries and HR. And visually that locker room scene as he dons his "villain" suit and cane (that slow-mo drop of his old one),

I feel like it's on par with the whole anachronistic style of the show and "What year is this?" question where it's not supposed to matter, and it makes the reality just a bit off-kilter and questionable. I love it.

"Between this and The Matrix, I really think we’re going to learn one day that deja vu was a tear in the spacetime continuum."

This so much.

Someone previously mentioned they could be anagrams! But haven't looked further into that, and not sure if anyone tried it out with all the titles.

I think a lot of things are beyond him which is fine, but it'd be nice if someone were to point that out and like, maybe tell him why.

this is the petition we need.

Agreed! TBH Danny Rand is just one giant man-child with PTSD. He has a saviour complex but lacks the intelligence to actually execute any of his well-intentioned plans successfully.

Also, this is the beginning of Colleen/Danny and it just get worse. Colleen's character is all downhill from here.

Best moments in this ep (maybe show) are Ward giving the finger in his office and when Claire grabs the take out to go. That pier recon was so amateur I wanted to cry.

At first I felt like Colleen was the real MVP but really, it's Ward. Colleen is fine until her relationship gets more "serious" with Danny and then you realize it doesn't actually make sense. Then she becomes hard to watch :(

omg… this

Oh, that would have been such a treat! Into The Badlands uses that style sometimes and it's quite beautiful and fun to watch, would really make sense in this show. As the episodes go on, Jones' lack of skill becomes so evident as he keeps having to fight people who are obviously trained.

That could probably be because Henwick is trained in martial arts, whereas I don't believe Finn Jones is. If they were on such a time/budget crunch, they really should have looked for an actor with more of a background in kung-fu/martial arts. I'm so confused/saddened by this.

Haha I wanted to save my commentary on Danny's driving for a later episode review but YES. When he hijacks Ward's car he explicitly says the only time(s) he's driven was as a child on his father's lap. And you actually see him in a later episode where he's DRIVING A (bougie af) SPORTS CAR. What is this timeline?????

I'm a little further along (ep 8) and at this point it's very obvious no one really tried too hard with this show. Danny actually behaves in a way that makes total sense as someone who, at 10 years old, suffered immense trauma and spent 15 years in a very different cultural landscape. We need to talk about PTSD and

Finally we see magic being taught! Loved Mayakovsky— I was pretty annoyed that everyone literally was rolling their eyes as he was trying to teach them… it's getting too dramatic that these kids aren't more down to do magic and at least try to learn it.
