In response to "it’s hard to tell if the “kill Bakuto plan” is Danny being naïve or the show being poorly written," by this point I think we have to accept that it's the latter. If Danny's innocence/ignorance were to blame, the show has played on that character flaw (quality?) in so many obvious and un-subtle ways…
