I am surprised though, generally "synergy" is a big buzzword for multi media corporations, use the movies to interest people in the comics, that's why Batman always reverts to Bruce Wayne when a new film version comes out etc.

That did occur to me after the fact. Point.

Literally just posted the same idea, gets them more attention to "replace" characters I'd bet.

Why not hire minority righters to create new characters? Not as news grabbing I guess?

So every "major" Marvel character is now a minority…just saying.

A lot of the changes seem to be for changes sake…Grail Industries and the like, know you've gotta make allowances for the medium change, but definitely getting a "Preacher In Name Only" vibe here.
