I see what you are saying but… Forcing an old woman to overdose on heart medicine IS torture. I don't think it was a "kind" choice considering that it was the only option Elizabeth had if they wanted to make her death look non-suspicious. That was a horrible way to kill someone and Elizabeth knew it.
I thought he sounded exactly like Floki too. The way he used a higher pitch during some parts of his story telling. It was such a similar speech pattern that it was distracting to me.

That part made me laugh out loud! I found the hitman's nonchalance rather funny. Though a bit unrealistic that he would wait so long to kill her. Maybe there was a bit of sadism at play there, as mentioned above. He was definitely toying with her emotionally…how cruel to be so casual about someone's imminent death…
