I read the entire Ramona series out loud to my sons, who are 5 & 9 just a few months ago. I loved being able to share that with them, and they were SHOCKED to learn that their grandmother read the first in the series (Beezus and Ramona) when she was a little girl. Beverly Cleary managed to just get everything detail

I worked at a locally owned video store in high school (94-96). It's still open, but the Blockbuster and Hollywood both within a mile radius are long since closed. Score one for local businesses, I guess!

Shit, that's the first I've heard of it. I agree, Greer is far better than Faxon. I've seen her in everything and I think I only recognize him from some indie movie I can't even remember the name of, but it also had Sam Rockwell in it and they worked at a water park or something. That's bullshit.

It's even worse. They had all those kids in a three bedroom and not enough clean water for all of them.

Same. My two sons way prefer animated shows and aren't enthralled with puppets. They outright dislike Fraggle Rock and the Muppets, and only barely tolerate Sesame Street.

Yes. Candace is all things to P&F. Also, whoever does her voice is the best voice actor on the show, hands down.

I went to college in Western Maryland (very close to the PA border) and I used to try to correct people when they used "needs verb". Like, "The floor needs swept." I tried to explain that the floor needs TO BE swept, but it was like talking to a brick wall.

Homer Simpson, smiling politely.

Dr. Scott the paleontologist is a babe.

YES. My four year old loves it and so do all his preschool friends. I hated the show until we found Paw Patrol underwear at Target and suddenly my kid who refused to use the potty was potty trained in a day just so he could wear his god damn Paw Patrol underpants. Now I'm a fan.

I was actually pretty disappointed that neither of my sons cared for Sesame Street. I think they didn't like the sketch-style show. They way preferred the narrative stories, like Blue's Clues or Dinosaur Train or Dora. My younger is still only four and he doesn't care for Blue anymore, but he still adores Dora.

Maybe Wesley Ellenburg ended up being Feeny-esque for whatever school he got a job at though.

BMW is my comfort TV too. Between Disney and ABC Family it was on six times a day when I was on maternity leave with my first kid. It was what I watched when I nursed a colicky newborn and helped keep me sane.

WHYYYYYYYYYY??????

I'm just outside of DC and my kid goes to an elementary school with no racial majority. I think it's about 30% White, 30% Asian, 20% Black and 10% Hispanic. He's white, but most of his friends are not. I was raised in an all-white area and chose this area to raise my kids in specifically for this reason.

Sweeney Sisters was my SNL gateway when I was seventh grade. That group remains my favorite cast ever. RIP Jan Hook.

I didn't! But that's a great catch!

I'm uncomfortable with the way Patrice is treated by the characters in this show. I cringe every time Patrice is onscreen, because I know someone (Robin) is going to be awful to her and we're supposed to laugh or something. But I don't even get why she's there because it's not funny and it never has been.
