Interesting discussion and points. I think in a successful dramedy, the comedy is based in drama and comes from real-life, authentic situations and characters. Whereas in something like Stepbrothers (which I love), the premise itself is ridiculous not to mention the inane (and yes, hilarious) things the characters do…
