Sorry, I was trying to reply to the comment above yours.

This is confusing - the Underworld they are going to is a place where only bad people end up? Ok, I get that Hook was headed for Hell even without the Dark One escapade. But that means the only characters they can bring back in the next half-season are villains.

Well, with the last curse (I have lost count of how many there had been) you didn't lose your memory, you turned into a tree. So tough luck for everyone who hadn't got out while they still could.

I think the same person who "taught" all of them to drive, namely Regina when creating the first curse. The curse personalities, with their memories and skills, are still with them (presumably IDs too, they must have had them). There is no reason to think Belle has forgotten being Lacey, and Lacey probably could drive.

I think there was something about wandering through rather unsettling dreamworlds. So it seemed more like an endless nightmare. And people could learn to go back in regular dreams and meet others who had at some point been under a sleeping curse. I remember it was how Aurora tried to get in contact with Neverland, by

Strictly speaking, Rumple wasn't the Dark One as Mr. Gold for 30 years before the curse was broken. The absence of magic in our world rendered the curse meaningless. That didn't stop him from being a nasty piece of work who the whole town was afraid of. Ditto his time after being exiled by Belle last season.

The powers and murderous urges are not the worst part. Dark Ones don't sleep. You'd think that not having slept a wink since returning to Storybrooke might have tipped Hook off eventually. Or taking your memories somehow makes you *think* you sleep? Emma saying something along the lines of "I put Hook under a spell to

Imaginary Rumple might not be the best choice for Hook, considering their history. He could have imaginary someone else. Actually, Head Emma would have been a great idea, after all, she is the Dark One before him, not Rumple. There she could get a chance to act as evil as possible, since it's not actually her.
