Loved how during Jonah's spiel at the end he equates shutting down national parks with removing a source of crappy childhood vacations.

Someone not reading Laura the riot act over her perpetual snit fit re: her mom sleeping with her teacher started to grate w/ me over time. Just a simple "did you really think he's going to endanger his job and risk jail time over you?" would have been sufficient.
I agree with Barsanti's take that the prequels may have fared better had they taken up the Anakin story starting with him in his teens.
Not arguing that the Ayatollah wasn't worse than the Shah. Just positing that had we not interfered with the results of another's country election we may not be in the position we find ourselves today re: the Middle East.
The Shah was part of the problem. A human rights violating dictator put into power through a CIA aided coup for the sake of gaining access to oil.
Good point. It was smelling like a corpse that was the ruse that worked for Rick and Glenn in the first season. Once the rain started to wash the stink off them the zombies became aware of their presence. Not sure 30 second old blood and guts cuts it as zombie repellent.
With all the shots Michonne and Heath were firing to give "redshirt no. 2,3,4 or 5?" a chance to get over the fence I did find it odd as well that they didn't think to put one in his head as soon as he was was dragged down. Ditto for the girl with the ankle after it was obvious she was done for.
I love that Leon knows that hanging with Alex (even casually) isn't the smartest course for him but that he still allows himself to be dragged along Alex's journey none-the-less.
Both of the female fight scenes so far have played into the whole Seinfeld joke about catfights in that you half expect a make out session to occur halfway through.
Roxy Music's Country Life and Funkadelic's Cosmic Slop.
My favorite line from yesterday …something about Kermit finally waking up to the sound of his alarm clock instead of his screams.
If Ficus did actually recant (he mentioned losing his job and pension) why does the marshal service have any sway over Ava at all?
I thought the death of the mortician dude that Boyd "suicided" last year was the last link to Ava killing Delroy and she was set to be released before Ficus shived himself. Or was…
Was it me or was there a "A Fish Called Wanda" reference in there when the CIA pilots dumped Archer out of the plane? I thought I heard a drawn out "asshole" from Archer (a la "Otto") as he was falling from the sky.
Part of the problem with Bullock's character is that he's not cynically lazy (someone who started with good intentions but due to the oppressive corruption around him just stopped giving a crap and went along to get along) where Gordon's attitude could eventually lead to him being re-inspired.
In the book "Respect Yourself" it was Jerry Wexler who tried to claim ignorance about that distribution/ownership clause. There are a few end-notes where Gordon gives other examples of how much contempt Wexler ultimately had for Stewart and Axton.
IIRC the primary strong man was Johnnie (Johnny?) Baylor. He seems to feature into pretty much every narrative of post 1972 Stax in terms of the shady stuff that eventually helped bring about the label's collapse.
At this point I think Lester is giving King Joffrey a run for the money re: most loathsome character whose demise you are actively rooting for to occur.
Wasn't Stuart somewhat "together" when the show first started airing? He seemed content with his lot in life and slightly a little more socially adept than the main characters. Then it appears over the course of the show they turned him into the George Costanza (self-loathing but without the rage) of TBBT.
"Mohammedans have been using violence to convert people to Mohammedanism…"
As if Christianity doesn't have a similar blood-soaked past. Granted, it's slacked off in the Western world but it's not like it doesn't have its own forced conversion body count.
As much as I try to enjoy this show Jack's random and vicious cruelty to anyone (including innocents) standing in his way makes it hard to actually root for him. Also, not expecting time reality at this point but what are the odds that a car is going to beat a metro train to its one-station away destination?
