I've got to get to American Pastoral, dangit.  Hopefully I'm not overselling it to myself, but I'm expecting to be destroyed by it.  Portnoy is probably my fave of what I have read, and I remember liking The Dying Animal.

The only thing I've heard by Rob Crow was with his novelty-type band Optigonally Yours, which holy cow I think is brilliant.  It's a shame there's just the two albums, and nothing new for over a decade.  Based on my luv for OY, I guess I oughta seek out more Crow, yes?  Or was OY way atypical of his stuff?

Cool?  I dunno, probably not, but I love them wholeheartedly - well, up to Seventh Sojourn (agree with what Dr. Mike said completely, except that I sincerely dig Days of Future Passed, too).  Real hit and miss after that, though Long Distance Voyager is terrific, outside of the radio hits (my least favorite tracks on
