I like your last point… I think the brother will be sent after Sam

Sorry, we're taliking about Frankenmountain. He was teased after he killed oberyn (in the season 4 finale we are notified that he'll be back, changed)… but he was not relevant to the season that followed… is what I mean.

keeping in mind it might never happen. My thought is the trial by combat will be Loras and the Mountain… with all of us clamouring for something else… this would really raise the stakes on all sides and likely result in the Mountain still being available for an eventual showdown with his brother..

I see him coming back this season… maybe identity obscured though WE know who he is. No way the whole thing (clegane bowl) goes down with out a lot of explanation… and there's only 4 episodes left with a tonne of story lines to plow through…

Now that you mention it… What about Mel… I assume she'll die at some point… she's travelling with Davos et al, yes?

They have hinted… with arya saying she "left him to die" and admitting she "no longer wanted him to die"… But you are right… there's a long way to go before he is confirmed alive and his story line brings him back to King;'s landing as a rep for the faith… probably not happening this season.

Varys is like the yin to littlefinger's yang… both obscenely good at the game, one for pure self interest and the other for what he believes to be the "greater good" of the realm. I had assumed they would both be around at the end.

That was the finale so you can count it.. I don't… he was teased in the finale of season 4, and introduced in the finale of season 5… He's done squat so far (one random crushed head) in season 6… I would wager Clegane bowl could go down in the finale of season 7 at this pace

I more suspect we'll be told of the "Mysterious man" by the person who found and nursed him back… we may not see him yet… I also suspect they'll draw it out by obscuring his face to further fuel speculation… I'd be surprised if he gets the Benjin treatment and reveals his identity right away.

That type of scenario already played out in the viper vs the Mountain though… they both "died", then the Mountain was re-animated by some dark arts type stuff. I see a definitive end coming for him… not yet though..

If/When Tommen dies there would be no linage to follow and the throne would go "again" to whoever claimed it. Just like when Robert claimed it (This is why he had all the Targarians killed)… it could just have easily been Ned, or Jaime or whoever… But it was Robert and those opposed ie. Greyjoys etc were eventually

"Left for dead" and "Dead" are different… resurrection is about raising the dead… there will be no resurrection of the Hound… there will be a reveal of him… he survived. He will not appear in King's landing without ample explanation I would think.

    Dingdingding… we have a winner.

Ya they've been moving fast this season but not THAT fast.

I think the Hound is coming back and that he will eventually kill the Mountain… but I think it's a red herring for this season. The trial by Combat will likely be the Mountain vs Loras and the Mountain will likely win. this is the "plan" back firing on Margery and it serves to highten the stakes of the Tyrell

    I care about Wunwun

Ok so this Mountain character… Was teased at the end of Season 4.. but sidelined for all of season 5, like "Gotcha"… then emerges for season 6 as basically comic relief, splats one irrelevant idiots head and goes straight to the "dead pool list". NO! this clown better do something of substance before he dies or it

Jaime will flip on everyone… he'll stab Frey and fight Tormund Giantsbane for the affections of Lady Brienne. ;-)… I like Nymeria as guess though… But I'd rather a wolf eat ramsay than fray… I feel like frey needs a nice back stabbing, I thought I could trust you, how could this happen to me… type of exit.

I wonder about this myself… she needs him as a figure head and connection to the crown… she has no heir… and he's easily led… why would she want him dead?

Well the speech she gave sounded a lot like a Mad Queen Speech… if her true intent is to tear down houses and kill all the families and essentially burn Westeros to the ground to start over… that's almost exactly what the Mad King was screaming about. "This place is filled with my enemies… burn them all"… Then what?
