Haven't finished the series yet, but it seems to me that neither Brendan nor Steven has the intelligence nor the sociopathy to keep a lie going for an extended period of time. Brendan eventually cracked and professed his innocence, and Steven just seems confused by the whole thing. I just don't think he has the skills…

What's under the sheet? That would presumably be The Mountain, no?
