I think the Dwight/Stanley subplot was the dumbest, most unrealistic subplot that's ever aired on this show.  And given the last couple season, that's saying something.

Also, Field of Dreams was made in the 80s.  Why would anyone expect it to be anything other than conventional and manipulative?

If you have a connection with Field of Dreams you usually hit at least one or two of the following categories:
a.) grew up as a baseball fan
b.) played the game as a kid
c.) have a complex relationship with your father (a.k.a. everyone on the planet)
d.) remember that life was way less complex when the most satisfying

The only problem I have with the speech is I think they use just one too many adjectives to describe the kiss.  I can see three or even four, but five?  Come on.

Where is the power rankings guy??

My guess is the former.  I also guess that the OP here has never seen the "Next Week" segment, because it is always ridiculous.  But I must say, this one was probably the all-timer.  I had to rewind and watch Harry say "I'll have to double check."  High comedy.

I think it's epic.  Also, I think it turned out better than the options the group originally wanted to go with: "The Honkies" or "The Crackers".

"I realized that the way all of his characters speak is the way he speaks."

Spike Lee has had many beefs.  Not sure I'd describe any as legitimate.

I had a choice one night in September: go see The Master or bang my head against a wall for two hours.  I chose The Master.  Turns out the latter option might have been a better use of time.  Oh well, at least the cinematography was nice.

Josh's thoughts on Argo made me consider giving up this podcast, as I literally could not fathom an intelligent person reading the film that way. It really was mind-boggling.  But I stuck it out and have agreed with some of his other takes since.  I try not to think about the Argo thing too much, it drives me crazy.

I saw Flight on the big screen, and I'm not sure it's even worth seeing on the small screen.

July 15th, that came out earlier this week.

Gauephat is Paul Schneider.

I saw Springsteen at one of the Giants Stadium shows a couple years ago, and he played the Born In The USA album in full.  And the night before, he did Darkness.  I had to really concentrate to not feel depressed that I was hearing Bobby Jean when the people the night before were hearing Racing In The Streets.

Also there's no way Hines Ward could outrun anyone.
