I loved this film. Whoever managed to get it a UK release so quickly, give that man or woman a cigar. It won't be for everyone, it's quite wide-eyed and sentimental, and the plot takes a turn that won't be to everyone's liking, but I was captivated. And there's one moment which was the biggest 'arghhh no!'* moment

Probably my second favourite Sleater-Kinney album (behind The Woods)

I thought Brill Bruisers was the best New Pornographers album since Twin Cinema, and the songs I've heard off the new one sound great. I know some will miss Dan Bejar's presence on this one but Carl Newman's songs have always been the main draw for me.

Charles and Camilla, which always made me think of the royal family (especially since I read it in the late 90s when Camilla Parker-Bowles was still history's greatest monster in the eyes of the press)

Holden Caulfield - I know some people hate The Catcher in the Rye for how much of a dick Holden is, but I still can't help but feel bad for the guy. Not least because he's suffering from survivor's guilt.

Pretty much every major character in The Secret History. Amazing book, especially considering by the end you pretty much want to kill every one of them for being so awful (including the one already dead)

I always feel rather nauseous looking at Pharmakon's album covers (which I realise is the point).

The really dark sequel to Cheers is shaping up to be a good one.

He'll always be Lance…I mean Landry in Friday Night Lights to me.

I was annoyed when I realised that Waves (my favourite song on The Life of Pablo) had Chris Brown on it. It's still my favourite song on the album though and I'm damned if I'm going to skip it whenever I listen to it. Damn you Kanye, find someone else to feature next time!

Jesse Plemons is in this? Who does he kill this time?

It's like a very badly done version of those annoying aliens in the animated film Home

I really like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and I like the relationship between Ferris and Cameron, but I feel that bit where Cameron says he'll stand up to his father finally is the one bit that rang false.

True! Planes, Trains and Automobiles was the best thing he did by far because it's the one film where the sentiment feels earned.

I still have no idea why Kevin wanted his family back in the first film. They're AWFUL towards him. I've never been close to my extended family (which includes a ridiculous number of cousins in the usual Greek Cypriot fashion) but watching Home Alone now I'm still a bit shocked by stuff like his uncle calling him a

Just give the role to Kristen Bell. And then keep Dax Shepard away from the film.

Feel even more appreciative for Lord and Miller's ability to spin gold from crap now.

The Brad Pitt/Jessica Chastain stuff - great
The creation of the universe etc stuff - ridiculous, but oddly compelling
The Sean Penn stuff - total guff

Seeing how insufferable Josh Gad seems to be in every other film role he's done makes me appreciate Frozen and managing to not make Olaf the most annoying thing ever even more.

The live-action Brother Bear and Home on the Range will be well worth the wait when they get to those.
