In Corden's defense, he also has a background in musical theatre, so he has more grounds to show off than Fallon (I wouldn't even say he's that show-offy, except for maybe the Adele one, and he still mostly gave her the floor that time). I'd also say that for Uncontrollable Urge and especially Jocko Homo. Before i heard the latter all the way through, I only knew it through Weird Al's polka version - needless to say, I wasn't really prepared for how insane it was.
Meat Loaf was a revelation. I didn't know I could listen to a 10-minute song all the way through before Paradise by the Dashboard Light (especially while working out).
A couple that come to mind: The original "Layla," which I heard while I was going through the Rolling Stone 500 Songs list. I think my jaw went slack when that riff kicked in. That is the eternal riff. With all due respect to Slash, no riff I've heard since has ever topped the electric jolt of "Layla."
