Hmm, Hot Rod wasn't a Lonely Island movie? They sure fooled me.

Christopher Guest is interviewed in Kevin Pollak's good new documentary about standup comedy, and in the section on dying on stage, he talks about how Tap played a recent show in Canada where the crowd was completely not into it. Like, crickets. I am ashamed for my country.

Surreal Thriller Wayward Pines: neither surreal nor a thriller. And therein lies the mystery!

2 and a half words: H. Jon Benjamin.

I have had a "new favourite Olsen sister" pretty much ever since I found out that one existed. But yes, in any case, her interview was a good one and she is putting together a pretty good string of films.

Now maybe someone can make an infographic for crime procedurals, "reality" competition shows, shows on the WB…

Stamos!

You're a fucking moron who has obviously never seen Carson.

I'll really miss the show. I wish I had read more of Leonard's books when he was still around, but I am looking forward to catching up.

Was this created with some kind of AV Club headline generator?

I'm not too concerned about an individual director's stylistic quirks as long as the final product works, and I think Gilliam is one of many who could have made a workable version of A.I. Others, now that I have had some time to think about it, include Soderbergh, Nicholas Winding Refn, Ridley Scott, Jonathan Glazer,

Someone else mentioned Terry Gilliam, which is as good a fantasy pick as any I guess. Maybe Alfonso Cuaron.

Strangely, I do care about that.

Mrs. Doubtfire? No. Mrs. Featherbottom? Yes.

So?

A.I. is one of Spielberg's best films? You are on crack, AV Club.

Glad to see Haywire and several others here; not so much to see Skyfall, which is a pretty overrated film, and Room 237, which is interesting enough but certainly not a greater film than, well, pretty much anything it is listed above.

Wanted was underwhelming. Kick-Ass was fun for its audacity and for Nicolas Cage (how often can you say that these days?) but the sequel was terrible. The Secret Service was surprisingly fun. What are the other Millarverse films? I can't think of any and am too lazy to look it up.

DVD sets are great when you need to buy a gift for your retired parents.

Beta would be so meta.
