I agree with this comment 100%. I just do not hear this overarching 80's sound that he believes grounds this album. Maybe on "Hands All Over Me" but the rest of the album is very far away from that sound. It's much closer to what you've actually described: post-shoegaze.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one b/c I'm absolutely loving this album. "Cranekiss" remains my favorite song of the year. This is my first Tamaryn album so, given the comments, I'll definitely check out their other work.
