Its very good and the Scy-Fy channel is really pulling out the stops. I think they want another "Battlestar Galactica" type of show (critically acclaimed, buzzworthy) and this is the closest they have come to it in 10 years.
Exactly! I have been liking "The Expanse", which shows Mars in the future being a military power, but they set it up properly and its a futuristic sci-fi show with lots of domes and terra-forming. Here, it is just..we have a character called Martian Manhunter, so he is "poof" from Mars with zero explanation on how…
his insisting on Kara being with him for his dinner with Cat when he knew her like three seconds was a little much and a little too forced. He has NO other friends?
i get it, but my suspension of disbelief failing is Mars. its me, not the show. Can't help it, its just a meh for me. Plus, it smacks of being dated, like Flash Gordon. I like this show for Benoist's performance, not for towing the comic book line.
in real life..doubtful but doable..in a comic book show? No way. BTW..I think it would ruin the friendship for years. Maybe ten years from now, they can be friends again..but telling someone you love them is a big deal. If you can shrug that off, you were not really in love when you said it, just horny.
Its not a dealbreaker, but it makes my head hurt, as you say. Why couldn't they pick any other planet in the galaxy? I get your point, but you can say that for any fantasy show or sci-fi show. "x does not really exist, so why care if they do "y", as "x" is impossible." Why not have aliens in Lord of the Rings? or…
I think it is 95% likely he will go bad. Maybe Lord will get him. Another supergirl he made would be a great lure for him right? Some on here hope he doesn't, but I really do not think he has a future just being Kara's best bud on this kind of show after saying "I love you". It wouldn't be realistic or believable.…
I liked this episode, but didn't love it for the reasons the article notes. The two worlds of Kara are rather jarring and it really stood out here. The DEO stuff was pretty dark and it really does not fit in sunny Catco world. But, the thing I love is Melissa Benoit really makes the two characters she plays really…
I agree too. They really would have fired (sacked in England) her after her episode one blow up at the other Lord at the auction IRL. It was extremely embarrassing for them and made her look horrible, plus that attitude is not compatible for the servant class so Carson would have fired her. But this is a TV show…
I love this show, but can say that the unicorn was the best and funniest joke they have done since the first episode. Between this show and "Angie Tribeca" not acknowledging the dog cop is in fact a dog all season, this is the best year ever for animal humor on American TV.
I'd give this episode a "C-". For the final season of this show, this was a truly blah episode where nothing much happened. Let me also join the chorus of wondering why Tom is still around. He is way too nice and bland now. Plus, his explanation for being back seemed very contrived. Moving to America is a big…
I agree that Carson being mean to Barrow has been out of left field this year, but your explanation is the best I can come up with as well. He just never liked him and now has no reason to pretend otherwise.
well, the flaw is what is he doing on the show if he is not going to be a supervillain or something coming of this? I mean, they specifically wrote him with a crush on Kara for a reason, they could have just been best buds with no sexual tension and they specifically chose not to do that.
its always shitty when one person has feelings and one does not, but that is life. You never know until you tell someone sometimes. I know many couples (really) that are married where one party was really not really interested about the other at first, even turning down dates for months or knowing the other person a…
yep, that is Kara's job. Having someone else go up to Winn and say "she is not into you dude" is rather high school. Adults do not do that. Cat would laugh her ass off if anyone even asked her to do that unless she thought it was a sex harassment on the job thing. I would go speak to some creepy stalker guy for a…
from experience, once your in love with someone and they do not want to be more than that, you are better ending the relationship entirely rather than just trying to be friends. If he was just crushing on her it would maybe be different, but once you say I love you and the other person says.."er..eh..ok?" (lol)…
I agree. They do not need "breaking bad" anti-heroes of course (it is not that kind of show) but maybe more "Mad Men" type of period correctness.
its too late in the show to complain about this. The Crawleys are practically saints on this show and have been for years. I would agree the first couple of seasons were juicier and showed more warts about their behavior where it was a true soap opera, but in the last three seasons, they have been almost too good to…
I agree this episode showed rather than just told us the old ways are dying, which is a huge improvement
