This is now canon.

Ah damn, now I can't unsee it! It probably would have been more impactful to have him in plain clothes watching his dad die too. Like he's helpless, not a hero at all.

And honestly, the "he took EVERYTHING from me" made me a little uncomfortable. I guess that language is usually used to nudge at rape, which is way, way too dark for Flash (or any comic book show, tbh).

Wait, I thought the guy in yellow and red was the mirror image of the guy in red and yellow! DAMMIT

HE'S TOTALLY PETER CAPALDI. I had that realization last night too!

Also a really interesting parallel to how drugs stop getting you high after awhile. Really well-played by the writers.

So, wait, Hellfire — is he still under Hive's influence though? Or does that go away with Hive dies? I guess I was thinking of him more like a parasite than a drug, so maybe.

Yeah, it was actually a really unexpected ending — they make you feel bad for him, just as he's resigned himself to death. A nice note to send Brett Dalton off on, rather than the typical villain death shot.

Great finale, although I'm not exactly on pins and needles to find out who the new Director is or anything. RIP, Ward/Hive — Brett Dalton has been the secret MVP of this show, and Me of Two Years Ago would be shocked to hear Present Me say that I'm sad to see him go.

So who wants to start placing bets on the faces in the hazmat suits? (Please be Jon Hamm, please be Jon Hamm.)

Oh my god, I would love a power loss episode if STAR Labs' response was immediately like, "UMMMMM, okay, one of everything! Here's a sonic cry modulator, here's a cold gun, a hot gun, a gun that makes everything gold, a super suit, some sweet goggles…."

Oooo, this is a good one. So what's your favorite trope? I really love the Red Kryptonite variant — dickish heroes.

Speaking of brothers, could be Caitlin's casually mentioned brother Charlie, I guess.

Barry's dad shows up again next episode, so I'm guessing it's his dad as an alt-universe speedster maybe? Rick Cosnett would be amazing though. Only payoff that would seem worth it.

Ugh, agreed. Last episode had quite a bit of that Barry idiocy as well. I feel like they have to pick a side on that — Barry can be impulsive, but he can't be dumb over a long period of time.

The ages of the characters keeps throwing me. The actors for Barry, Wally, Jessie, Caitlin, and Cisco all appear to be generally the same age, yet they treat Jessie and Wally like teens, so I guess they must be?

Naw. A new particle accelerator explosion? She could be mere episodes away from having a personality again!

New Girl has a talent for reminding you that certain male TV stars are SUCH babes.

I think it's weird they've never fully explored how someone who managed to make it through law school is such a disaster of a person. It seems like such fertile ground!

Can we talk about Riggs' hilariously inconsistent American accent? He's Australian every other line at this point.
