Yeah, I give it a solid A. Gotta agree with Noel that the directing was some of the best we have ever seen on Fringe. The filters, the angles, the mood… all made for a heartbreaking story, retcon be damned.

yep, still watching
It's kind of a Sunday tradition for good or bad. DH has solid ratings still so renewal is never a question. My guess is that it goes 10 years, which means 3 after this one. Sounds crazy but why not.

serialized drama
Holy crap are there a lot of serialized dramas coming up on the networks for the fall. Who know's what will get picked up but at least 2 or 3 of these 10 have to be good right? It's getting to be a long list, especially from ABC and NBC.

I was hoping Heather was going to light the golf cart on fire with Roman inside it.

Craziest thing I've heard about Arcade Fire is that "I started listening to them because David Bowie told me to."

I can say without a doubt in my mind that "V" is the worst show I am still watching. I know there are only a few episodes left so I will grind it out. I mean really, the dialogue is just as bad on "V" as it is on "The Cape" yet without the underlying "ok to laugh at" element.

I was just saying that there are plenty of quality movies every year to satisfy me. So no, I don't think the quality is all that debatable. But like I said, I don't watch 100 movies a year. Then I would have more to complain about.

What percentage of sequels are wide releases? Almost all of them, right? Because people are buying tickets to what they know. The bottom line is there are A LOT of other movies out there that will come to your average cineplex.

600 movies a year
Is it that crazy that 30 out of 600 movies are sequels each year? 5% doesn't sound like that much. Coincidentally or not, about 30 movies hit 100 million dollars domestic every year, too. (BOM tracks about 600 a year. Obviously the movie you shot in your backyard is not on the list.)

That's exactly right. I'm absolutely entertained by an hour of "The Cape" but bored to tears by an episode of "V." There is no way "V" will be renewed.

Sure it's bad but it also has so much unintentional comedy that it's totally worth it. And it's obviously not trying to be such a serious show. That's why the sins of "V" and seasons 2-4 of "Heroes" are so much more egregious. Throw in the season 1 finale of "Heroes" too. That has to be the worst season finale ever.

Can't stand Brooke Alvarez. Get a new "anchor" for ONN and it might have a chance. For now, I'll be hanging out in the Dome. Those guys are nailing it.

screencap
…looks like it's from How I Met Your Mother so that comparison is obvious. And that's a show I had to quit after 2 episodes on account of the unfunniness. That's likely what will happen here, too.

I also think Chuck's miracle run will end. It continues to sink in the ratings.

It's done horribly. Lower each week. This week got a 1.5 in the demo. It's for sure canceled. It's not looking so good for Chuck over at NBC either. They just had a heavily promoted "written as season/series" finale episode that garnered season low ratings.

Cain was pretty great and I've heard he will be returning. So yay.

I completely agree. The first two minutes of "The Plateau" are outstanding. That said, utilizing the split screen was a nice touch for The Cape. It wouldn't work on Fringe, for example, but here I thought it was cool.

And some grammys! Right?

Video game bleeps and bloops do not get Oscar nominations. True story.

Rooting against Pixar? I've never heard of such a thing!
