likeable chefs
Are there any? I can't decide if I'm rooting for anyone yet. Sure, I'm actively rooting against some (Tracy) but no one has stood out as someone to root for yet. After two episodes, I would say the food has been so-so and certainly not the most creative. But I think these people may really dislike

started watching because of the Dallas stuff
Since I just moved to Dallas, I thought, hey, why not watch a show that takes place in Dallas. And while I can't stand Burn Notice, I kind of get a kick out this show. It's definitely a goofy riff on cop shows. Since I hate cop shows, this is 100% logical to me.

Idol results
Is this a sign that FOX doesn't quite believe in AI post Simon? Only a 30 minute results show? How will they fill 21 minutes of airtime instead of 42? And what about that replacement show thing for AI that Simon is moving to? You can tell how much I care after not being able to remember its name.

I blame Ryan Seacrest. He needs to cut those idiot judges off at 8 words each.

Ditto on FNL. For me, season 2 didn't happen. I erased it from my memory. And the way they reinvented Season 4 was nothing short of brilliant.

Today's 10 year olds have the internet. they can look up any crazy shit at any time. I had to go to a neighbor's house to watch "Sixteen Candles." I just thought there was something to the fact that none of the other students at their school had a similar reaction. The just congratulated Butters. But Matt Lauer

another way of looking at it
I thought there was also an element of "nothing shocks kids anymore." It was all the adults who were grossed out by the book and vomiting. Kids don't care. They are so desensitized to violence, sex, and bodily fluids that it's just not a big deal. I'm 30 and nothing really shocks me.

Party Down
Wasn't this story used a plotline on Party Down's first season? They were vying for the movie roles of Poe and Lincoln.

good premier
Solid start to the season last night. What I found interesting in my "Tara" experience so far is that I don't necessarily care about how she came to be who she is. The past isn't what is interesting. I love how Tara grapples with the present and her frequent blackouts. It seemed that the medication

Well, if we are to believe that the Incident marks the point of timeline divergence (which I don't, btw) then everything that happened before that instant, happened. The numbers existed prior to the Incident in 1977. Now, the caveat to that is that Hurley believes he is lucky now instead of cursed. Since the Island

I think there's something to that to go along with the "not a binary choice" thread below. Smokey can apparently scan individuals but we just don't know what he gets from that scan. Does he "weigh" their heart as it tips one way or the other? Can he measure intention? What does that say about his powers on the

I would guess the runway was long enough and flat enough to sort of stop on a landing - you'll note that they did overshoot by a good bit. Takeoff distances are a little bit longer, minimum distances for a 737 are approximately a mile.

brent
There will be those that claim this episode is "filler" or "setup" or whatever and try to compare it to the "filler" episode of the season "What Kate Does." But it's not even close. "Recon" was cohesive and advanced characters in a way that WKD didn't even attempt. I still liked "Sundown" and "Dr. Linus"

Renee
Unless someone needs a knife in the eye, I don't care for any more Renee story.

Since Col. Casey was dismissed this week on "Chuck", I'm desperately hoping that he takes over the investigation. This shit would be cleaned up by hour 20 with Casey knockin' heads. JB needs a lot of help. He's dealing with idiots constantly.

I think they get away with it because she doesn't have to necessarily work a 9-5 job. But Anne has never been an integral part of the funny, maybe because she's more normal than the rest.

They were both off last night, hence the C- and C+ grades. First and foremost, both shows need to be funny. And they have struggled with that this season. It's not that they are bad, they are just not as good as they once were. I realize that's a total internet'y thing to say. But too bad.

I hate it when my son grows up to be my father-in-law. Total bummer.

1) Eye color? Bah.
2 and 3) I think the fact that he appeared with blood on his hands is a bigger deal. He was showing something that really struck a cord with the Man in Black. I would assume that both Jacob and MiB were once both normal humans, and yes, probably children. And since Jacob appeared as a child with

LOST is teaching me that simultaneous is relative. Dammit. I think the bomb is really a Schrodinger's cat experiment. Until you open the box, the cat is both alive AND dead. The bomb exploded and it did not explode. Two possibilities.
