"You have witchcraft in your lips, Kate.." CHRIST that scene gets me every time.

Lioness TV adaptation yes yes yes. And having the CW make it is oddly brilliant.

I really loved the "Give Yourself Goosebumps" books – I was super into choose-your-own-adventure, and those were particularly excellent.

I thought so too. All the armchair detectives who took it way too personally and are lashing back are something else.

It isn't really in a category, but I really liked the teaser trailer for The Boxtrolls that shows the animators lovingly constructing sets by hand: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

I blazed through it on Netflix when I had pneumonia (and then watched it again when I was in a better state of mind). I can't wait for season 3. She is such a delight.

I only had a passing familiarity Star Trek, so it wasn't until college that I realized the portly man selling hotel rooms on Priceline commercials was Captain Kirk.

I unconsciously say "cool cool cool" (a la Abed from Community) more often than I'd like to admit.

"And that's how the 1938 musical train wreck Daddy's Boy ends – mid-song, as the crew refused to continue working on the production. Coming up next, an encore presentation of Daddy's Boy.. NO! We had a deal!"

C is for Cookie!

After I moved to Seattle, everyone told me to go to Cinerama, which I did (to see Mad Max) and I gotta say.. I don't get it. Definitely not worth the trip downtown or the inflated ticket price. Is there something I'm missing?

Agreed. Although it's probably better than if they'd really leaned into his madness and gone more of a Mad Hatter/Johnny Depp route.

This is the episode that's really sold me on the series. They've done a wonderful job condensing the book's themes; in the first two episodes it felt a bit forced, but this one found very elegant ways of doing it (destroying Mr Norrell's books to emphasize Strange's shift towards black magic was inspired). It was a

In case you're curious.. in the 80s someone did manage to infiltrate the queen's quarters (a story ripe for this feature) and the corgis did NOTHING.

That footage from the Today Show is just wild. Why did anyone ever think that was a good idea? Like besides the fact that the animal is visibly upset, it's also a really dangerous and can kill you??

There used to be a lot of blanket bans on photography in museums, in part to protect artwork from flash photography, but also to protect works under copyright. Now everyone has cameras in their phones and it's impossible to enforce, so a lot of museums just give up. I know around here, art museums allow photos in
