I spent the weekend (yes, yes, I have no life) watching the BBC series Sherlock and it avoided the predictable.

If you need to watch again or check something on the show, go to the CBS website. They post the show fairly quickly after it is aired. I downloaded "ad blocker" (I think you need to be using Chrome), and it works perfectly.

Brax, you are probably right, but I still am hoping for less formulaic writing. Sherlock would also insist on it. I thought the writers did a better job in earlier episodes.

Why did we get reruns this week (10/31)? I endured reruns all summer; this is fall - annoying!

I would not be annoyed; I think it would be fun to watch Sherlock flummoxed over someone paying attention to Watson, as I am sure he would be - if only for possessive, attention, or time reasons. I also think Sherlock may have solved the case to keep Watson from more interaction with Detective Not-Bell. He isn't above

Was it Monroe or the detective who was played by Peter Herman (Hargitay's husband)? When I first heard and saw the detective, I thought he must be James Arness's (Matt Dillon) son because he sounds so much like the older actor - he even looks like him.

I used to blog on the AVClub Dexter thread, and it became a "look for plot holes" (very easy during this last season) exercise for everyone. I should stop doing that. I need to just enjoy the show - which I do, despite plot inconsistency. So, I will add that even if the shooting went out over the news or scanner -

Thanks I will try that. I goes against my sensibilities to not underline titles.

I can see the "take charge" interpretation. I thought her voice was a bit high pitched and hurried - not what I would expect from a seasoned doctor. It wasn't a huge thing, but I would like to see her more unflappable.

With Peter Blake as a write for "Elementary" and a writer for "House", I am hoping "Elementary" doesn't fall into the predictable plot timing that killed "House" for me. On "House" you knew that whatever diagnosis the docs came up with was incorrect until just before the last commercial break when some random event

A random comment on the (vocabulary) use of teets - my husband is a large animal dairy vet. I asked him (when referring to cows) if he used the word teet or tit. He said when talking to the dairyman - tit. When talking to the wife - teet. I thought that was interesting/amusing.

I love the show and am willing to roll with some "willing suspension of disbelief" but I do like my characters to have believable and consistent behaviors. So, I have to say…. Why did they have Watson yell when she saw the stalker on the bathroom floor and seem a bit panicked. She was a surgeon who should have

I must not have watched closely enough - how did the stalker know the shooter had been shot in the shoulder - so he could try to shoot himself in the same place. I realize he could have been "stalking" outside when the incident occurred, but the shooting took place inside the house, so he wouldn't have seen (in the

This bothers me, too. I have a cordial relationship with my GP, but surgeons meet you for a quick pre-op exam, and then see you anesthetized on the table. They then have a conversation with your family for 5-10 minutes in the waiting room post-op. There can be a few follow-up visits as you recover, but I think the

I thought it was odd for him to show up on her doorstep and even odder for her to seem to enjoy it. IMHO I think there may be more to this man in a future episode - good or nefarious - can't tell yet.

How does this weeks get an A and last week a C??? I laughed all through last week and spent half my time cringing this week. The Leonard's mother plot-line is too much. It makes me uncomfortable to see how abusive she is towards Leonard - just not funny, mostly sad. I fast-forward whenever she is on (I think she is a

Wow, C+! I laughed way more than a C+. It was my favorite episode this season.

Sadly - I agree.

The Nebraska trip was stupid - unless the disgusting hookup with the store clerk produced a brother for Harrison to find in the future and become a Rudy-Dexter killing duo.

Makes me miss the good old days - never thought I would say that about Season 5.
