Hear hear. The only criticisms I have is that the story, while great, is stretched out a little (esp. the troll song seemed like filler, but at least it wasn't as bad as the Gargoyles in Notre Dame) and that the way they handled a certain character was a little bit abrupt.

I just rewatched it too (which I actually don't do often - much less for episodes I hated at first), and… it's pretty entertaining for the most part if you buy into the whole school freaking out over a fratboy prank, which I still don't entirely.

Repilot felt pretty contrived, but there's a reason they broadcast the 2 episodes back-to-back - they just work better together. The first one is mostly set-up while in the second one things come together a little and we get a real episode, and a good one at that.

I wasn't too crazy about the Cage-out either. The storyline itself wasn't that bad - I really liked how it made Abed reevaluate his whole world view - but the freakout itself was a little cringeworthy. That said, I can take a little more silliness in the B plot if the A plot is good, and that was the case for me last

D+. A couple of funny jokes and not the worst episode (the season 4 finale and the bar mitzvah one from season 3 spring to mind), but still pretty dreadful.

Interesting that this episode is receiving such positive feedback. I absolutely loved last week's two episodes (well mostly the second one; the first was a little convoluted in its plotting, but that's understandable because it had to set up the whole season). But this was just completely off from beginning to end.
