Yeah, we'd already had several series of 'Allo 'Allo, set in Nazi-occupied France.

No, I think the joke about the jump is just that it makes no sense, that's there's no plan that would have actually done he job. And Blackadder doesn't ask him if he made the fire go because he thinks he's a witch. Baldrick's not supposed to be a witch, but yes there's is a subtle joke that witch finder was looking in…
I figure there's a fair bit of Lord Harry Flashman to the character too.
You say 'the sadly deceased Patsy Byrne' but don't mention Flashheart's Rik Mayall - one of the UK's most beloved comedy performers - also died this month. Maybe it was brought up in the review of the last episode of Series One.
That's the second AvClub TV review reference to Morton's Fork this week - the other was in the Blackadder article.
How come classic episodes of old shows like Monty Python don't get Grades, but this over-30-years ago show does?
Ta. Fixed now.
Hey, didn't you write My Ding a Ling?
I can think of at least seven roles he's had since exiting Dr Who, and only two of those required a US accent.
'Guy Pearce' is the Australian term for a Prince Albert. In America it's called a 'Dick Cheney'.
Got interests when i thought it was by comedian Dom Joly, then realised it wasn't. American was a good album, wasn't it? No? Oh, ok.
Note the script says "White: 5/13/14". That must be the day they bring Walter back.
Yup, you hit the nail on the head. Nothing original in his Big Brother speech; the context made no difference either. In fact the whole Extras special just seemed to rehash all the same notes from the second series' last episode. And for Gervais it's been pretty much downhill from that low point too.
He's a big guy with a tiny face.
ETA: no his face is normal size, it's just set in a huge head. Look at it next to Liam Neeson's noggin (which I'm guessing is big enough in its own right): https://pbs.twimg.com/profi…
"which we on this side of the Atlantic call “England.”"
Surely, "The United Kingdom", or "Great Britain". England is just one country over which the Queen reigns.
For what it's worth, I saw it last night, and while I didn't think his 'with pleasure' line was supposed to be some massive twist, I did think it had some significance. It wasn't a thick French accent, but it was noticeable.
"we're not homosexual, we're divorced!"
Of course robots can age, if they have a flesh and blood exoskeleton! Think, reviewer, think!
Oh dammit, I just posted that exact line!
They already remade Point Break - it was called The Fast And The Furious. Every plot point and beat was copied.
