That is completely beside the point though because Conan the Destroyer was bad because it was badly made not because it was wrong to make it in the first place. A bad piece of art was made. What I meant by that is that everyone experiences art differently. So something may be very important to you and utterly meaningless to someone else, that is the very nature of art. There is no such thing as objectively good or bad art. Subjectivity is what it is.
Why is it a shame? You get to continue enjoying Watchmen the way you want to. If other people don't what difference does it make? It's not like everyone who reads Watchmen was going to like it anyway.
Just because a few people on the internet say they are wrong doesn't mean they are wrong. Doesn't mean they are right either of course. How about rephrasing that as "I don't like this story but I'm sure there are legitimate reasons why many, many other people are enjoying it."
I read these articles every week but never comment. I mostly come for the comments section but usually give the article a read too because I think Sava can sometimes make good points but even as someone who often agrees with his principles I feel he allows them to colour his every criticism far too much.
