I think some on the conservative/Right are going overboard in saying that what he said is true. I think it is defensible, based on certain theories, even if it's also annoying or offensive to some. But I think the theories he touted are also contentious and have skeptics or criticism.

Although I didn't agree with how they handled this, or how AV reported on it, threatening people over it is certainly bad.
