I liked Arrival a lot, but I would have cut out the last minute or so - I got it, I didn't need a montage with string music to stress how really, really deep and sad it was.

The reviewer is underselling it a bit - it's not only a nuanced portrait of how a slave-owning society looks like (and what mechanisms keep it alive), but also a very clever portrait of a man who is presented as both sympathetic and terribly awful. I liked it a lot.
