Bob Clark was so wonderful before Hollywood discovered him. Also best on screen Watson.

His resignation over it made me smile too hard. He'd clearly rather be talking about some insane film he did over a bag of coke where he wears a silly hat instead.

He's such a great actor they've upgraded him to British making Sutherland the greatest Canadian film actor.

I definitely appreciate it when an actor matches expectations and Plummer as a jolly old drunk via life type is just perfect for him.

Now I'm reminded I need to see that. A good DVD?

Yes, that and The Insider is all I ever needed even as he's got about a million great roles.

How fucking old is Mike Wallace when even Christopher Plummer remembers him as a kid?

Michael Cimino was really flattered by the proposal.

Surprised Broken Flowers didn't make it as this is one of the most affective uses of the family connection.

@drdarke:disqus Naturally.

How many times do I have to say this. They're well respected British character actors. Being wondrously over the top in the worst films known to man is part of the heritage.

I am that paranoid.

Did you get more than an agreeable Scruffy-esque grunt from him?

Hopefully you didn't get the American version of This Must Be the Place which seriously edits the film down.

Carradine was actually pretty suave looking as a younger man.

Seamus McGarvey? You have just sold a ticket good sir. Best cinematographer since Christopher Doyle

Though the Yo seems excessive as the Soy already indicates I.

My mum read me sex ed books. Probably why I hide in public restrooms now.

It's a film I love mostly because of how it confuses me so I suppose your reaction is appropriate (if I remember rightly it was a huge flop on release). It's fairly unique in Rossellini's career so I hope you don't take it as representative. Like Craig suggests maybe you should check out the other two films of the war

Like said below it is a lot of fun even if it doesn't have a lot of the pre-code insanity of the original. I also recommend Curtiz's other colour horror of the period Doctor X which has easily the darkest and strangest reveal in all of classic Hollywood.
