Thorgy didn't do much except tee-hee into his hands as MJ does (or, perhaps more accurately, MJ impersonators do). The Blanket-dangling was a nice touch, but MJ is a massive well of opportunity for comedy that wasn't tapped here.

And while they built it up this way, there's no way Thorgy would have won if Bob didn't. Or maybe she would have, but it wouldn't have been earned in the least. Chi Chi's Eartha Kitt was funnier.

Sigh, yeah this would have been the perfect Amy and David Sedaris episode, with a switch to a different more comically-themed runway.

Aaaaand Bob's Carol Channing has technically now beat Pandora Boxx's Carol Channing, considering Bob won the challenge. That just feels wrong for some reason…

That was indeed pitiful. I think the only one I liked was Manila Luzon, but only barely and it became repetitive. No one else made me laugh.

You remind me how badly I want Gillian Jacobs to return as a guest star/judge. She clearly loves this show and that makes for a much more engaged and fun presence.

Katya's low point all season, but surrounded by gold on both sides so ultimately forgivable.

Someone mentioned here that Thorgy had planned to do Gilda Radner, or had done her for her audition tape? That would have been a much better choice IMHO. Built-in comedy from the get-go.

It was slightly better than season 7, which was basically a nightmare. Even the winners weren't that great. Making it worse were the two celebrity guests who laughed in maniacal overcompensation in attempting to convince the viewers that it was the funniest event that's ever taken place on Earth.

Oddly, I thought Dida Ritz's Wendy Williams was one of the better ones in season 4, overshadowed by the romper room fuckery surrounding her on that lower level LOL

Way more entertaining! I was so angry at Betty reading her saying, "Eartha Kitt didn't do that." Well, yeah, duh, it's a comedy challenge, so taking one thing about your celebrity and blowing it up to outrageous proportions is a wise move. It totally worked!

That was the hardest I ever laughed at anything Trixie did or said all season last year. She's definitely bringing it lately with her YouTube videos with Katya, though.

The problem is, Margaret Cho is funny. Kim Chi isn't funny. That would have been a major misfire if she didn't have comedy material ready!

Spot-on in look and sound. But it wasn't funny. That's the key goal here: BE FUNNY! Derrick didn't do that. Kim Chi barely squeaked ahead of her in the laughs department, though, so I'm with you there.

That really needs to happen one of these seasons: dueling celebrities. It would up the competitive stakes for sure.

LOL I was thinking the same thing! "Raven, your denim look was den-ummm"

Yep, when there was an actual song budget.

Her Whoopi would have worked, I think. It's a shame she didn't stick with it. I think there's more comedy to be mined from Miss Celie-Whoopi than Sister Act-Whoopi anyway.

Yessss! Breathless Mahoney! How did no one even attempt that retro 50s look she did that year in both DICK TRACY and the "Vogue" video.

Ha so basically all these queens are all thinking inside the same box LOL
